The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has assisted artisans and other entrepreneurs through a variety of projects around the world. USAID does its planning locally and encourages associations and individuals to connect with country Missions. Ongoing USAID programs include a savings group to empower women in Sierra Leone and a program that helps hundreds of Ukrainians start their business selling furniture, ironwork and wooden products, bags and accessories.
