Aid to Artisans
Aid to Artisans (ATA) is a division of Creative Learning, a Washington DC based non-profit organization. Their mission is to assist low-income artisans around the world build profitable businesses selling traditional handcrafted items. They do this in a number of ways including a grant program and training services.
Canvas home(TM) Small Grants Program
In partnership with canvas home™, a retailer of artisan furniture, ceramics, and textiles, the canvas home™ Small Grants Program provides artisans with financial assistance. The grants are meant to allow artisan groups to acquire materials, tools, equipment, training and marketing services in order to expand employment and generate income. Aid to ArtisansU: This platform, allows you to upload your profile, your product catalogue, and gives access to free training courses about topics such as Exporting to the U.S. Retail Market and the Market Readiness Introductory Course. ATA Mentorship Program: This is a 16-hour mentorship program with two ATA experts via video conference call and is designed to meet your specific needs in various topics. The cost for this program is about $1,750.
Market Readiness Program: Their Market Readiness Program is an in-person training program that takes place at NY NOW, one of the biggest trade shows in the US. It costs around $2500 per person and includes, networking with buyers and industry experts face to face, exhibiting your products, and training materials. It will take place from August 19-23, 2017.
